"Meeting and working with John has been one of the great pleasures of my sporting career. Regardless of the severity of the issue at hand, John's knowledge and demeanor put me at ease and enabled me to take ownership of my recovery strategy. In order to compete at the highest level, I had to be sure that the information was available and easy to understand, and that a plan of action to get me back in net was underway. John never failed in his approach or recommendations, and I owe him in no small part for my 30-year career in sport."

"I have worked with John at the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre for numerous years with many mutual patients. We've also worked together through the Canadian National Men’s Water Polo team. John has a very calm, patient and approachable demeanour. His skill set as a physiotherapist is exceptional and his approach to management of musculoskeletal problems is thorough and systematic. I would recommended him without reservation."

"I have known John for more than eight years while playing on the Canadian Men's National Water Polo Team. As part of the team, John travelled with us across the world for training camps and international competitions. He always went out of his way to make himself available to provide quality treatment and professional care. There are many unforeseen injuries that can arise while travelling and competing overseas and John made sure he was always there to give his undivided attention. In addition, John went above and beyond his job duties to support us in any given circumstance. He exudes professionalism and is someone who is reliable and passionate in his practice. I am so privileged to have had John by my side for so many years."

"I am a reasonably active male in my mid-60s. John has been instrumental in helping me recover from both minor injuries and major surgery. I first met John when he assisted me with rehabilitation from total knee replacement surgery in 2013. Over the past four years he has also treated me for a fractured shoulder and other unrelated knee and shoulder issues.

"I had seen other physiotherapists for several years prior to meeting John. Features of his clinical approach that differentiate him from others and which particularly appeal to me are:

- His thorough diagnosis and emphasis on patient education to help me understand how the affected joint functions
- His use of measurement-based progress monitoring to help me quantitatively track my recovery progress through flexibility and strength improvement...a great motivational aid
- His “homework” assignments that include narrative and illustrative cartoons that serve as useful reminders and references of the exercises I am expected to perform between consultation sessions
- His patient-centred focus that appropriately puts the responsibility on me to do the work between consultations, which I have found reduces both the frequency and number of visits required to rehabilitate my injuries compared to previous experience with physiotherapy. This is appreciated by a retiree, like me, who no longer enjoys supplemental health insurance coverage.

I have referred friends to John and they have likewise reported satisfaction with his approach and their outcomes."

“John was integral to my success as an athlete on the Canadian Men’s National Water Polo team. His treatments were essential to my recovery from the numerous injuries that I suffered throughout my career. I could not have endured the intensive training cycles and exhausting competitions I experienced had it not been for John and his phenomenal work.

John always showed great dedication and conducted all treatments with the utmost professionalism and care. He would make himself available for any treatment that was needed and would regularly go out of his way to ensure that my recovery was going as planned. This commitment helped make injuries significantly less stressful and much more manageable. It has been a pleasure working with John throughout my athletic career and I would strongly recommend him to anybody looking for an experienced, and knowledgeable, physiotherapist.”

"John Roberts was my physiotherapist for three years, during which time I had several areas of concern. He helped me immensely with regards to understanding my injuries and learning to reduce the pain on my own. I would recommend him to anyone who wants superior bedside manner, empathy, and knowledge.

"The focus of each visit was different depending on what my most urgent needs were. John taught me exercises to do at home for pain relief and strength for knees, back, forearm and neck. He tested my abilities and flexibility often and recommended me for a joint exercise program to improve my strength and balance.

"I was obviously a mixed bag of issues and I believe two of John’s biggest strengths are patience and adaptability. John listened to me no matter how wordy or emotional I was on occasion. He always made me feel relevant and never rushed during my appointments. On the contrary, sometimes he allowed me extra time when it was needed. I’ll miss John very much and I believe being in his care and getting to know him enriched my life."
